Iraq
December 2002
Iraq is complying with toughly worded UN Resolution 1441 and is allowing Weapons Inspectors to inspects installations and bases and even presidential palaces. The UN and the head of the inspection team state that Iraq is complying with the resolution, though the US seems to disagree, and has repeatedly said that it reserves the right to act outside of the UN.
Meanwhile, CND has received a legal opinion that Resolution 1441 does not allow military attack and is taking the government to court to force it to state that it will not support military action without another, explicit, resolution. See CND Press release and newspaper report

US and Britain prepared to use nuclear weapons against Iraq April 2002
Leaked details of the US nuclear policy review show that America is prepared to use nuclear weapons against several countries including Iraq. Geoff Hoon has made a similar statement with regard to Britain.
