“There exists an obligation to pursue in good faith and bring to a conclusion negotiations leading to nuclear disarmament in all its aspects under strict and effective international control”
International Court of Justice, 1996

We call on the government not to replace the Trident nuclear weapon system. Replacing Trident with a new nuclear weapon would:

·

Undermine the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty which commits us to negotiating complete nuclear disarmament

·

Ignore the obligations underlined by the International Court of Justice in 1996 (see quote above)

·

Encourage countries such Iran to develop nuclear weapons - how can we insist they don’t when we intend to upgrade our own?!

·

Cost up to £25 billion.
