George Bush and the US Government are still talking up the danger from terrorism, and an attack on Iraq looks likely. More about Iraq here

Meanwhile, in Afghanistan there is lawlessness in parts of the country as the central government is unable to impose its rule in many area, and in some places there have been battles between rival warlords. Opium poppy production, which was halted by the Taliban, has restarted.
